We love Chick-fil-A!

2010 February 9

And not just because Chick-fil-A has super yummy peppermint Oreo shakes during winter months and the tastiest chicken nuggets EVER. They also have clean dining areas, fully stocked condiment and napkin holders, a soundproof  (hallelujah!) play area, the nicest employees AND scrumptious mints.

I also love Chick-fil-A’s willingness to support various causes, including my girls’ elementary school. Last night was the school’s annual Chick-fil-a fundraiser so we headed down to our close-but-not-close-enough location for dinner. During the hours of 5pm an d8pm the school would receive 10% of all sales—and I wouldn’t have to cook—so the decision was easy enough.

Initially I had no intention of actually going inside and fighting the chaos that is lunchtime and dinnertime at Chick-fil-A, but when we saw only one other family hanging out, I become the coolest mom ever and made a last-minute decision to park and head indoors with the kids. The peace and quiet lasted a total of 10 minutes until the clock magically struck 6pm and the floodgates opened. Did I miss the memo stating families with four kids or more MUST arrive at precisely that time? {sigh} Thank heavens for that soundproof play area!

Nathan was able to meet us there on his way home from work and the kids had a fabulous time. All the playing and running around almost counteracted all the sugar they digested from their cookies & cream shakes…almost. Here are a few pics I took with my phone:

Madison was constantly on the lookout for friends and super cool teachers

Lauren tried to act grumpy because I wouldn’t let her have a second shake (or finish her siblings’ shakes). She was also a bit upset about the red mark left by her Dad after a minor head-on collision.

Too bad I didn’t have my Flip or you would’ve seen George doing “the Michael Jackson.” He has no idea who Michael Jackson is, but when his sisters tell him to dance like MJ, he busts a move!

Chick-fil-A

What can I say? She loves to strike a pose no matter where we are!

No cooking, no dishes and a pre-planned family night activity. Now that’s my kind of Family Home Evening!

P.S. Is anyone else amazed by how quickly Chick-fil-A gets people through their drive-thru during lunch and dinner? Last time we were there the line nearly rivaled the new In-N-Out and yet I was through it in about five minutes. Bless those little helpers standing outside taking orders!

Now that’s my idea of FHE! And I’ll bet the kids loved getting out – especially to Chick-Fil-A. Speaking of which, they seriously must put an addictive chemical in the breading of that chicken! It’s scrumdillyumptious!

You know how I super double heart Chick Fil A… now your post about it is a bit more eloquent than my recent post. But, I don’t want to put my readers in shock by actually spelling something correctly. ;-)

Camille, I agree. They MUST put some sort of addictive substance in those nuggets! And Steph, we are Chick-fil-A (and now Dino Nugget) BFFs.

I remember when Vanessa told me she had NEVER been to a Chick-fil-A…we had to fix that problem!! I love their family night. We go there every Wednesday, oh and sometimes a few other times for dinner and lunch. They have excellent customer service, and for fast food they are the BEST around!
