Bambi lovers, beware

2010 March 3

Disclaimer: I’m talking about the famous deer, not the “other” Bambi. If you’re looking for that little “dear” you have no business reading this blog.

So last night a Twitter convo among @sahans, @jillkaufusi, @littletipsyblog and me (@emihill) went from who knows what to the subject of Bambi, the famous Disney deer. For some reason that recalled a film I once watched as a very young, very impressionable child. It seriously left a mark. (Dad, do you still feel guilty for letting me watch it at the Fields’ home? I hope so.)

I had a feeling thanks to Google this little ditty of a movie was out there in cyberspace and I was right. Let me warn you, this 1 minute, 32 second grainy black & white film is not for the faint of heart. Though my kids would probably ask to see it over and over again, they have a sick sense of humor. Yours would probably immediately burst into tears and be scarred for life. I know because that’s what it did to me about twenty-some-odd years ago.

Don’t hate me because I now find “Bambi Meets Godzilla” rather hilarious. I finally get why the adults thought it so funny so many years ago:

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Phew! I’m not quite sure what to say. I used to work with a Bambie and she hated her name because everyone said ‘Ahhh, like the movie?” When in actuality, her Grandpa helped pick the name….an ode to his favorite “lady of the night” he frequented during WWII.

ROFLMAO!!!! That was pretty dang funny! Would have scarred me too, but I’m so past feeling sorry for Bambi (not a fan of the movie). Poor Godzilla, though, that’s gonna stick and STINK.

    Emi,
I do remember! I loved that video and if I recall correctly you didn’t sleep for two nights and wouldn’t talk to me for a week. This could also explain alot of your actions while a teenager.
