Mad Libs Monday: “Fun Family Picnic” by Megan of Brassy Apple
(Our most recent guest Mad Libber was Rachael Herrscher from Today’s Mama. You’ll love her “Cultural Stuff” Mad Libs!)
Today’s “Fun Family Picnic” post comes to us courtesy of Megan and is from the Dysfunctional Family Therapy Mad Libs book.
I first met Megan over three years ago when I attend the Boutique Cafe BC Girls’ Getaway Weekend. I believe she had blonde hair then but was no less beautiful—and no less crafty. (Yet another craft friend whose talent I hope rubs off on me!) She’s so crafty, Studio 5 had her on as a guest to share with viewers her super cute burner-cover-turned-owl-magnetic-chalkboard craft. Her site, Brassy Apple, is full of fun tutorials, DIY projects and crafts. How do I even relate to these people?!?!
Megan’s been living out of state since I first met her but recently moved to Utah, so I’m hoping I can see her IRL again soon. Perhaps she can help me turn some random household item into a fabulous magnetic chalkboard creation!
After the story you’ll find a few interesting facts about Megan. Enjoy!
FUN FAMILY PICNIC
by Megan
Yes, this really is Megan’s life…
Name and/or nickname: Megan, Meg or Ms. Apple if you ask the delivery guy.
Blog(s) and/or website(s): Brassy Apple
Where you grew up: Boise, Idaho
Favorite childhood game: Paper dolls of course! I could spend hours making new clothes for them. I also love roller skating and pretending I was Olivia Newton John from the movie Xanadu.
Super cool mom moment (i.e., one of those moments when you were the coolest mom ever): So many to choose from….ha ha, just kidding! Near the top of the list has to be a surprise outdoor luau, letting my kids decorate their rooms for Christmas, showing them how to mattress surf down the stairs and playing restaurant during a candlelit dinner with my kids as the waiters and cooks!
Totally uncool mom moment (if you’re willing to share): Oooo, I don’t “think” I have had one of those yet . . . at least I wasn’t aware I was being uncool! LOL
Your go-to “drug” of choice (e.g., Diet Coke, chocolate, Peeps, Venti anything from Starbucks): Savory! I love chips and dips, a good salsa and BREAD! Give me those carbs, baby!
Your guilty indulgence (e.g., reality TV shows, pedis, chick lit): Bargain shopping, Hot Tamales candy and a little reality TV thrown in there.
If you were stranded on a desert island, preferably in the Caribbean, which famous person would you want with you and why? Captain Jack Sparrow of course! He has escaped twice from a deserted island. He could get us out of there!
Happy Monday!

I know! Why didn’t more if us think of him? And yes, you definitely need to check out her blog. It’s awesome even if the craftiness is beyond me. Lol

I would like to change my answer to him too. Only man that looks good in eyeliner. I have wanted to meet her IRL too!

I hadn’t thought about that but you’re right. He is the only guy who looks good in eyeliner!

WOW!!! Her cool mom moments blow mine out of the water. Time to take my mother up a notch. Outdoor luau here we come (do you think my family will mind that it’s freezing outside during their luau *wink*). Thanks for featuring her, Em! Loved reading!!!
