Mad Libs Monday: “Christmas” by Melanie of Sugardoodle
(Our most recent guest Mad Libber was Julie from Leelou Blogs. You’ll love her “Thanksgiving Day Survival” Mad Libs!)
Today’s “Christmas” post comes to us courtesy of Melanie of Sugardoodle and is from the Dysfunctional Family Therapy Adult Mad Libs book.
Melanie is the woman behind the brilliant idea that is Sugardoodle. Sugardoodle is THE website for ideas, printouts, handouts, recipes, lesson helps, music, you name it for members of the LDS Church. But even if you’re not LDS you can find some great Boredom Busters and free clip art. I’ve visited this site many times for the clip art and lesson helps…usually late Saturday night before church Sunday morning. (I hear that’s when her site is the busiest!)
I recently met Melanie in person and she is as sweet as the name Sugardoodle would suggest. After only a few minutes, you feel like you’ve known her a heck of a lot longer. When you meet her, you instantly like her…it’s kind of like how you instantly like her site the moment you find that perfect object lesson.
After the story you’ll find a few interesting facts about Melanie. Enjoy!

Name and/or nickname: Melanie
Blog(s) and/or website(s): Sugardoodle.net.
Where you grew up: Mostly in Utah…
Favorite childhood game: As a child I loved playing croquet in my grandma’s backyard and board games with my family. When I was by myself I played with Strawberry Shortcake dolls, My Little Pony and Cabbage Patch Dolls. I loved collecting marbles and Garbage Pail Kid Cards (remember those?).
Super cool mom moment (i.e., one of those moments when you were the coolest mom ever): Whenever the laundry gets done, or more specifically, when the socks get mated. Or when my youngest gets up in the morning and says, “Where’s my morning mahhh (kiss)?” Or when my son says, “You know I love you? I do.” (Ahhhhh…sweet!) Or reading with my kids each night…totally cool!
Totally uncool mom moment (if you’re willing to share): Oh, goodness…let’s see. Putting my children in timeout and forgetting about them, forgetting to pick up my children at the right time on early day at school because it is different than the normal time (I’m so routine!) Or trying to go visiting teaching with all four children because hubby doesn’t get home in time. Really bad. Never do it. Totally uncool.
Your go-to “drug” of choice (e.g., Diet Coke, chocolate, Peeps, Venti anything from Starbucks): Soda…I could care less about chocolate or goodies…my weakness is soda.
Your guilty indulgence (e.g., reality TV shows, pedis, chick lit): Zupa’s Restaurant, pedicure with friends, vacationing, Netflix, listening to Christmas music and American Idol.
If you were stranded on a desert island, preferably in the Caribbean, which famous person would you want with you and why? Jack Bauer from 24. He could protect me from anyone or anything…especially pirates! Got Jack?
Happy Monday!

She doesn’t care about chocolate either. I’m pretty sure we are soulmates.
