A station, a spa, a short rib, a sweet & a sister wife

What do all of these things have in common? They were all part of our September reviews on SassyScoops.com. And boy, have we been busy!

Flowers on Main
Okay, so we didn’t review a sister wife, but the sister wives stopped by Flowers on Main to help plan a wedding. And you can see it on TLC’s Sister Wives.

Though the Sassies could easily live together happily as sister wives …

Flowers on Main (33)

… we weren’t there to plan any weddings. Instead we met the owners and fell madly in love with them and the shop. I even learned how to craft my own floral centerpiece. It was amazing. You can read our review and ratings here: “Review: Flowers on Main in Lehi.”

City Cakes & Cafe
City Cakes & Cafe is a vegan bakery in Salt Lake City specializing in vegan desserts.

I was not able to taste test City Cakes & Cafe’s assortment of goodies but the other Sassies—and a couple guest Sassies—did. It appears the jury is still out; half the gals liked their treats and the other half not so much. You can read what our non-vegan Sassies had to say here: “Review: City Cakes & Cafe.”

The Copper Onion
I was truly sad to miss the Sassies’ visit to The Copper Onion. I’ve eaten there twice and thought it super tasty. I usually stick to their famous burger and side of fries, but it sounds like that wasn’t as impressive a burger this time around. Also, apparently The Copper Onion doesn’t understand the word “short” in short rib:

A fun little restaurant in the heart of Salt Lake City, is The Copper Onion a must for your next date night? See what the gals had to say first: “Review: The Copper Onion.”

REMEDEZ HairSpa
Looking for an Aveda salon and spa in Utah County? The Sassies and a couple guest Sassies visited REMEDEZ HairSpa, an Aveda salon and spa in University Mall in Orem. We chatted with the owners about Aveda’s mission, products and the salon’s story and were treated to a sampling of their services. Pedicure, anyone?

Meeting the owners is one of the reasons we love featuring Utah’s local businesses on our site—they are passionate about what they do and all about “buying local.” Read what we had to say about REMEDEZ salon in Orem: “Review: REMEDEZ HairSpa.”

Station 22 Cafe
In my opinion I’ve saved the best—and tastiest—review for last. Station 22 Cafe on Center Street in Provo was a HUGE hit with the Sassies. HUGE.

I am still dreaming about the Memphis Fried Chicken Sandwich with its hand-cut, battered and friend chicken, spicy butter sauce and homemade coleslaw. Oh, and the fries are totally worth the 30-minute drive from my home, especially with a side of their secret-recipe fry sauce. Mmm…mmm…good! The funky atmosphere, super awesome owners and live music didn’t hurt their review, that’s for sure. You can read it here: “Review: Station 22 Cafe.” Of course, with this one, I suggest you try it for yourself. You can thank me later.
