Mad Libs Monday: “New Year’s Resolutions” by Caroline from Smarty Pants Mama

Caroline (@smartypantsmama) is another eBay Parent Panel member I met at eBay On Location in Orlando. (Gosh, that seems like years ago!) I liked her the moment she spoke up in our first panel workshop. Being one who prefers not to speak up, I was glad Caroline was picking up my slack. She is smart, just like the title of her blog implies, but she is also friendly, energetic and has a great sense of humor. And oh, does she have some fun stories to tell! I had no idea she had a Masters in Education, but for some reason it doesn’t surprise me. She’s awesome like that.
A mother of two, Caroline dedicates her site to “learning the very best ways of parenting.” She shares her tips, recipes, and insights on Smarty Pants Mama. In her previous life she was a classroom teacher, technology integration specialist, instructional designer, adult trainer, educational consultant, voice over specialist for educational software and tutor. Whew!
After the story you’ll find a few interesting facts about Caroline. Enjoy!

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS
by Caroline
Yes, this really is Caroline’s life…
…
Name and/or nickname: Caroline
Blog(s) and/or website(s): Smarty Pants Mama
Where you grew up: Long Island, NY
Favorite childhood game: Playing house in my little log cabin out back and catching fireflies!
Super cool mom moment (i.e., one of those moments when you were the coolest mom ever): Being filmed for the Huggies Potty Project—to document the trial and tribulations of potty training.
Totally uncool mom moment (if you’re willing to share): I’m thinking that my cool and uncool are sort of the same. Not too sure how “cool” my daughter will think it will be years from now when she sees that her potty training experience—including dozens of accidents—has been kindly recorded and aired for millions to see!
Your go-to “drug” of choice (e.g., Diet Coke, chocolate, Peeps, Venti anything from Starbucks): Peanut butter and a spoon.
Your guilty indulgence (e.g., reality TV shows, pedis, chick lit): Reality TV!
If you were stranded on a desert island, preferably in the Caribbean, which famous person would you want with you and why? Matthew McConaughey—because I would be distracted from my unfortunate situation as I sit and stare at him. :-)
Happy Monday!

I’ve never tried it that way. Perhaps I should use a fork, knife and spoon next time. More peanut butter that way!
