Today’s green smoothie recipe is by Gina Baker from My Chocolate Peaces. Another must-have for your recipe book!

It was just another regular day that would change my life. I was searching for buried treasure, also known as recipes, online and came across a green smoothie recipe from Whole Foods. The comments were even more enticing than the name. Most people complimented the sweet flavor but advised you to ignore the color of the smoothie if possible.

So we gave the smoothie a try. We liked it so much we gave it another try. We decided that we loved it so we began regularly stocking the ingredients. Now my little boy knows the sound of the blender and dances every time I make one.

… Instead, maybe I should say, “Warning, these are highly addictive!” But I still hope you try them!

Now you may be wondering why we call it The Green Monster Smoothie. The first time we gave my little boy some of this, he drank it so fast most of the smoothie ended up all over his face and him… hence the name. Sorry I don’t have a picture!

The Green Monster Smoothie
1 1/2 c rice milk
1 c spinach leaves
1 c kale
1/2 c frozen berries
1 banana
4 pitted dates

Blend.* Enjoy.

* Note: The longer you blend, the smoother it is.

There you have it. The Green Monster Smoothie—big in taste, bad in color.

Enjoy!
