Game day party prep made easier with Rubbermaid
They say practice makes perfect, so we thought we’d practice two appetizers perfect for the big game during a recent game night at my sister’s home: southwestern vegetable dip and the ever popular spinach dip.
We also practiced our snickerdoodle and chocolate peanut butter pudding cookie recipes (see third photo); dessert is my favorite kind of appetizer.
And stock up I did. For reals.
I’ve always been a huge fan of the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs. They’re not only perfect for toting a gazillion cookies to your practice game day party…
… but they also come in handy when you have a sister who is happy to take home leftovers yet fails to return the containers causing you to pull a Cam* in her kitchen once a year.
As much as I’m a fan of those TakeAlongs, the containers that caught my eye were from the Rubbermaid Premier line with their Easy Find Lids and crystal clear plastic. I loved how the lids stack and snap to the bottom of the containers helping create a little order in the chaos that is my Tupperware drawer.
Another perk? That gorgeously clear plastic (BPA free like the lids) claims to resist stains and orders.
I’m putting that claim to the test with a pretty dang spicy southwestern dip. We’ll see if that Titan™ plastic is still odor free after a few days in the fridge. The game day test dip is pictured at the very top of my awesome game night Rubbermaid tower:
Check out how well the large TakeAlong stored—and displayed—all the prepped veggies for the southwestern dip:
Because it was only a practice game night for the upcoming game day party, I didn’t feel the need to serve the southwestern vegetable dip with accompanying veggies on a fancy platter.
Who am I kidding? I’ll totally serve it this way on official game day. We’re talking easy prepping, easy serving and easy cleanup.
I like that story.
To make party prep even easier, I’ll probably bake batches of cookies and brownies ahead of time and freeze them in the TakeAlongs. As long as I remember to pull them out the morning of the big game, they’ll be good to go by kickoff time. Nice.
If your planning a party for the big game and could use a little help in the food storage department, you’re in luck!
