Southwestern dip for game day

2013 January 24
by Emily Hill

In Monday’s “Game day prep made easier” post I referred to two game day appetizers, a southwestern vegetable dip and my favorite spinach dip. Tuesday I shared the recipe for the spinach dip (a tweaked version of the classic Knorr spinach dip recipe), and today I bring you the recipe for homemade southwestern dip.

And by vegetable I mean you can eat it with vegetables. You won’t find vegetables in the dip itself—that would be too healthy.

Southwestern Dip

Now, this southwestern dip had quite a bit of kick to it so I’ve toned down the cayenne pepper in the printable recipe. Feel free to add more or less cayenne pepper to taste. If you want to cut down the prep work on game day, make this the day before and chill it overnight—the dip will taste even better on Super Bowl Sunday.

Serve this vegetable dip with your favorite veggies like sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, carrot and celery sticks, sliced sweet peppers, cauliflower and broccoli florets or olives.

This is such a perfect dip for the game day! Although I’m not a big fan on the game, I’ll still prepare this dip and other snacks and have fun. I know I’ll enjoy this dip more than the game! hahaah…
